The Lawrence Chinese Camp Charitable Trust Trustees invite Community members to join them at the archaeological excavation at the Lawrence Chinese Camp led by Dr Chris Jennings.

About the event

The archaeological excavation is the initial part of stage 1 of the Lawrence Chinese Camp Development Project, which will subsequently include trenching, waste and water connection to Lawrence mains and electrical installation.


The Trust is very grateful to have recently secured funding of $200,000 from the Otago Community Trust $20,000 from the Trusts Community Foundation and $20,000 from the Chinese Poll Tax Heritage Trust which along with contributions from other community organisations, businesses, individuals and fundraising, have made it possible to progress the project.
